Guardianes de la Naturaleza is a Costa Rica–based movement advancing a bold and scalable vision: embedding environmental consciousness directly into national education systems. With Costa Rica serving as a global eco-innovation hub, our work aligns deeply with the country’s Ministry of Education to evolve and scale the Eco Blue Flag Program — an initiative that integrates gamification, technology, collaboration, and purpose-driven learning.

While most environmental programs operate at the classroom level, Guardianes takes a systemic, policy-aligned approach, targeting Ministries of Education to transform education from the inside out. Our organization focuses on systemic, scalable solutions that tackle the environmental crisis, improve education quality for the well-being of people and the planet
